We’re proud to be partnered with Youth Music, supporting their NextGen Fund, which helps behind the scenes creatives take a step forward in changing the music scene. Each year Youth Music throws an awards evening to celebrate all the amazing young talent upcoming in the music industry, and this year’s awards was definitely a night to remember. Get ready, as we’re about to give you the low-down on the night!

Who are Youth Music?

Youth Music is a nationwide charity that believes every young person should have the chance to change their life through music. Their insights, influence and investment in grassroots organisations as well as young people themselves means that more young people can make, learn and earn in music.

We’re currently supporting 8 young talented artists on their music journey, helping each of them to get their unique sound heard. We love listening to their incredible music, especially when they perform live in our restaurants like Keanan, Daniel and Dayzy did at SoundClash earlier this year.

An Evening of Celebrations…

Before the night kicked off our Brixton team cooked up some delicious food, including fiery Jerk Wings and Chef Collin’s Mac & Cheese for the hardworking backstage crew, who are also supported by Youth Music.

The award hosts Benny Jeee and Nieema Hassan introduced each award and didn’t fail to make us laugh throughout the evening! The awards were presented by many big brands in the music industry like Ticketmaster and Spotify, with a special appearance from Lethal Bizzle to present the Live Performance Award.

We caught up with Keanan, who is one of the artists we support, on the red carpet before his fantastic live performance. Then Dreya Mac closed the awards evening with a performance that got everyone up out of their seats dancing.

It was a brilliant night and we’re excited to continue our partnership with Youth Music, supporting the next generation of young British music artists.
