World Sea Turtle Day

Turtle Bay x Hawksbill Rum

Turtle Bay is proud to be supporting World Sea Turtle Day in partnership with Hawksbill Rum and SEE Turtles.org

From the 13th to 16th June, we'll be donating for every Hawksbill Rum cocktail sold, helping to protect vulnerable sea turtle hatchlings through conservation projects supported by SEE Turtles.org

This initiative supports SEE Turtles’ Billion Baby Turtles program, which funds local communities to patrol nesting beaches across the globe - helping ensure critically endangered species like the Hawksbill Turtle can safely hatch and reach the ocean.

As a thank you, every guest who purchases a participating Hawksbill cocktail will receive a certificate showing they have helped protect a turtle hatchling, plus an extra stamp in the app on 17 June.

Together, we're raising a glass to good times, great cocktails and a brighter future for sea turtles.

Did You Know?

The greatest threats facing sea turtles today are caused by human activity.

From plastic pollution and habitat loss to fishing gear and climate change, many of the challenges sea turtles face are man-made.

The good news? That means people can also be part of the solution. Conservation programmes around the world are helping protect nesting beaches, safeguard hatchlings and give sea turtles a better chance of survival.

FACTS

  • Less than 1 in 1,000 hatchlings is thought to survive to adulthood.
  • Sea turtles have existed for more than 100 million years, surviving even the extinction of the dinosaurs.
  • Female turtles often return to the same beach where they hatched to lay their own eggs.
  • Healthy sea turtle populations help support coral reefs and seagrass meadows, which are vital marine habitats.
  • Conservation efforts are working. Protected nesting beaches and community conservation programmes have helped increase turtle populations in many parts of the world.
